HAVE YOU JOINED FLICKR YET?
Last season you will recall I gave two presentations on the merits of Flickr as an online photo sharing program par excellence. We have now set up a Steyning Camera Club pool on Flickr, so that members' images from their individual photostreams can be pooled in one place. Integral to the pool is a Discussion Forum, which can be a place for help, online competitions and group appraisal.
Anyone can see what is in the pool, but to participate you have to have your own individual flickr account. Now is the time for me to encourage everyone to consider joining up - the basic account is free and an unlimited pro account is only $24.95 per year.
Visit www.flickr.com and follow the "Sign Up" links. The group pool can be found at http://www.flickr.com/groups/steyningcc. All you have to do to join the group, once you have created your Flickr account, is to click the "Join this Group" link and note to the admins that you are a club member - we'll know you already of course, in most cases. If anyone wants any help or advice, please Ken Scott who will be pleased to point you in the right direction. Don't miss out. Come and join in the online photo revolution. It IS where it is all happening.
SUMMER PROGRAMME
Our Summer Programme is now available on the Programme page and for download as a PDF (see below). Please do your best to support what looks to be a varied and interesting series of walks and workshops over the summer months. In addition to those listed, an evening visit to Horsham Museum and a workshop with Ken Scott entitled "Photographing with all your Senses" are planned. Look out here for more news. Full details of all these workshops are on the flyer (available for download below).

HORSHAM MUSEUM EXHIBITION
- Steyning's exhibition in Horsham Museum is now open and will be viewable until 10th May. The display looks superb, and features varied work from nine members. We can be very proud of what we are able to show to the public.

Digital Crouch
Congratulations to Horsham PS who became the first winners of the Crouch Shield in its new digital format on 12th March. Thank you to everyone from the Club who helped the evening to run smoothly, in particular Cliff Carter, who not only spent many hours ensuring the correct calibration of the projection equipment and optimising the images, but who also stepped into the breach to do the MC duties. Cliff deserves a huge thank you.
Steyning, by the way, finished a creditable 4th, with judge Leo Rich ARPS choosing Pete Etheridge's striking portrait as his favourite image of the evening.
Steyning Camera Club is proud to be hosting the first ever digital Crouch Shield competition on Wednesday 12th March at 7:30pm. Formerly for colour slides, now for projected digital images, this event is contested by ten of the leading Camera Clubs in the West Sussex "Regnum Crouch Group". Members from participating clubs, friends and guests are welcome.
Please Note: owing to unavoidable circumstances we have had to change the date for John Beatty's presentation to 20th February. Apologies for any inconvenience. ALL TICKETS SOLD ARE STILL VALID. If you cannot now attend, please contact us for a refund.
