Sussex Photographic Federation PDI Competition October 2017
17 clubs took part in the competition, held in the Kings Hall, Burgess Hill. The three judges were Chris Palmer FRPS DPAGB APAGB EFAIP, Ray Bridges CPAGB ADPS and Jeff Lawrence LRPS CPAGB.
The competition is divided into two parts: Development and Open and each club submitted 6 images in each section. Each image was marked out of 20 by each judge giving combined maximum scores of 60.

Tea Break by Maggie Clews score: 53
Learning to swim by Fred Stone score: 52
Red Darter dragonfly by Paul Lynn score: 50
Lonely tree in Steyning Bowl by Dave Clews score: 44
Lady in Red by Steve Strong score: 41
and resulted in us coming joint third with Bognor RegisCC and MiddletonCC (scoring 293) behind StorringtonCC (301) and ChichesterCC. (294)

Cairngorm Ptarmigan by Michael Ball score: 52
Brick Lane market by Norman Atkinson score: 51
Loch Na Keal sunset by Michael Ball score: 50
Hoverfly on flower by Andrew Green LRPS score: 48
Thief by the compost bin by Wendy Ball score: 46
and resulted in us coming 2nd with a score of 300 behind EastbournePS (302), but overall, when both scores were combined we came TOP and won the Cup for the winning club.
The scores for each image entered in the competition ranged from 36 to 55, and one judge penalised those wildlife images that did not identify the creature in the title.
